WordCamp Lancaster UK 2013

24 June

I am going to WordCamp Lancaster UK, the UK WordPress weekender being held on the 13-14 July 2013. WordCamp UK (now WP UK) since 2009 has become the highlight of my tech calendar. My inaugural visit at Cardiff was made even more special because it was the first time that the two WordPress founding father’s, Mike Little and Matt Mullenweg were in the same room together. This was the second UK WordCamp organised by the wonderful Tony Scott.

WordCamp’s are fantastic for anyone who has an interest in this open-source software. Seasoned pro’s and beginners alike get the chance to see some great talks, presentations and also get the opportunity to discuss and share knowledge of working with, developing and building WordPress websites.

If you have an interest in WordPress I strongly recommend that you sign-up to a WordCamp too. There is probably one being held close to you. It will not only allow you to network and learn from some of the world’s most knowledgeable WordPress experts. You will also see for yourself just how one of the best things about this software is not the code, which is poetry, but the people who choose to work with it. It is a valuable chance to get inspired and fired-up by some of the World’s best WordPress poets. They really are a nice bunch, somehow devoid of the larger than life egos of some other conferences I have been too.

I am proud to announce that iFamily are a Micro Sponsor of the event.

I look forward to seeing you there.
